Jane Dee Strange passed away peacefully on April 1, 2013 at 86 years young. Jane was born in New York City and was the daughter of Peter and Mary Dee of Yonkers, NY. Jane brought her family up with her husband Walter H. Strange of 50 years in Pelham, NY and retired to Rye. Jane was an accomplished Life Master Bridge player and taught private bridge lessons. Jane pursued an interior decorating business, loved antiques and was co-owner of Past Times antiques store in Larchmont, NY.
She had a terrific sense of humor and enjoyed the company of many friends and extended family. Jane was a graduate of Gorton High school in Yonkers, NY and attended Notre Dame in Baltimore, MD. Jane was predeceased by her sister Katherine D. Dunn and is survived by her sister Mrs. Robert Buckley, her brother Peter Dee, her six children, Michael, Walter, Jr., Louise, Mary Taylor, Sarah Strange and Charles Strange, grandchildren Sarah Strange, Will Strange, Travis Appleby, Nicholas Strange, Allie Strange, Mary Jane Taylor and Daniel Taylor.
The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Thursday April 4 from 2 PM to 5 PM and from 7 PM to 9 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of The Resurrection on Friday at 11 AM.
