A beloved Rye Town citizen, navy veteran and active communtiy member, Joseph M. Granchelli, died on Jan. 4, 2013 at age 85.
Rye Town officials described Granchelli as a hard worker who always had a smile on his face. They held a moment of silence for the well-known local at the Jan. 16 Town Board meeting.

Mr. Joseph M. Granchelli died on January 4, 2013 at age 85. He was a veteran of the Navy and later became an accountant and proprietor of Port Chester Travel for over 32 years. He as civic minded, a member of Kiwanis, The Lion’s Club, Elks Club 40/40 and the Salvation Army. Beloved husband of Laura (nee DiPietro), Devoted father of Thomas (wife Andrea) Joseph, Anthony (wife Christina) and the Deborah Ann. d. 1958, cherished grandfather of Brianna, Christina, Lauren, Anthony and Matthew.
