Laurice T. Keyloun, 89, Creative Dress Designer

After an active and exciting 89 years, Laurice Keyloun departed peacefully on November 27, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn to the late Razkalla and Lillian Keyloun.

She began her career as a creative dress designer and owner of Laurice Keyloun Boutique in White Plains, NY. For 30 years she created custom apparel, wedding and cotillion gowns for Westchester couture in the 1950s through the 70s. She later re-invented her label in a unique and popular line of whimsical ultrasuede accessories.

As a consummate traveler, she voyaged to all corners of the world. In the 1960s, she made several trips to the Middle East to foster goodwill with America. Later, she journeyed to the San Blas Islands off the coast of Panama where she worked to promote the Mola fabric art of the Cuna Indians. She lived her life with zeal and compassion, and had a gift for making friends everywhere she traveled.

She is survived by her loving and devoted sister, Pauline Antaki, brother, Victor, sisters-in-law Marie and Carol Keyloun, and Joan Erdman as well as many caring nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her sister Josephine, and brothers Elias and George.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church 260 Westchester Ave., Port Chester on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 9:30 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Port Chester, NY would be appreciated.
