Where the Money Goes

Blurbs about the Airport

The Federal Airport Administration or FAA is an operating arm of the U. S. Department of Transportation.  The White Plains Airport is supervised by the Westchester County Department of Transportation.

It is my opinion that the $54,000,000 expansion planned at the airport to make the passengers more comfortable, mostly paid for by the FAA could be put to better use.

Our infrastructure is crumbling in many places. Bridges, roads and areas destroyed from flooding need attention immediately. Jobs could be created to attend to these needs, not to benefit the Commercial Airlines.

Each capital improvement at the airport is designed, architect drawn and then presented for bids for construction. Many are put on hold. This takes time.  Meanwhile there are infrastructure needs ready to be attended to in the county.

The various departments of the County Board of Legislators need to talk to each other and plan accordingly for where money is going. In spite of claims that the Airport earns money and does not cost the taxpayers anything, each capital improvement has to be paid for!!
