Carvin: Middle East Turmoil Demands Passage of Keystone Pipeline Project

Joe Carvin says the turmoil in the Middle East demands the passage of the Keystone Pipeline Project as a "no-brainer" on the route to U.S. energy independence.

CARVIN: MIDDLE EAST TURMOIL DEMANDS PASSAGE OF
KEYSTONE PIPELINE ENERGY PROJECT

Westchester-Rockland--Sept. 14... Rye Town Supervisor and congressional candidate Joe Carvin (R-NY-17), who has lived and worked on five continents, today emphasized the critical importance of the Keystone Pipeline project that has been blocked in Congress, in light of the growing turmoil in the Middle East that already has claimed four American lives, including the U.S. envoy to Libya.

"The need for North American energy independence could not be more clear as we watch embassy after embassy under protest and assault throughout the Arab world today," Mr. Carvin said. "The Keystone Pipeline is an absolute no-brainer toward energy independence, and House Democrats should re-visit their opposition to it immediately."

The Keystone XL Pipeline would move 830,000 barrels of Canadian crude south to the U.S. each day. Keystone XL would lower U.S. gas prices and reduce US reliance on Mideast and Venezuelan imports by as much as 40 percent, according to estimates.

Mr. Carvin said he would do everything in his power as a member of Congress to see the pipeline built if he is elected."

Yup. And don't forget the natural gas deposits in western NY either. That's another "right away" project.
