La Panetière Celebrates Christmas With Veal or Venison as the Entrée Choices on $85 Prix-Fixe Dinner

Jacques Loupiac's La Panetière in Rye will serve an $85 prix-fixe dinner on Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24) and Christmas Day offering a choice of petit fillet of veal or venison saddle with poivrade sauce as the main course. Wine-pairing with four of the courses is an option at an additional cost of $45.

Reservations for Christmas Day can be made for arrival times from noon to 8 p.m. The regular lunch menu and a limited à la carte dinner menu will be available on December 24 and a $35 prix-fixe, three-course children's menu will be offered on both days.

The prix-fixe Christmas meal menu follows:

First Course
Smoked Salmon Romanoff. Crème fraîche, diced lemon, mimosa egg, brioche toast

Second Course
Fresh Tagliatelli. Perigord truffles, chanterelles, porcini

  • Wine: 2011 Clairette Côtes de Rhône 'Les Abeilles' JL Colombo Rhône
Third Course
Sautéed Massachusetts black bass. Pesto crust, vegetable minestrone, Manila clams
  • Wine: 2011 Pouilly Fuissé Domaine Ferret
Entrée
  1. Petit Filet of veal with mild curry sauce. Pistachios, multicolor peppers, raisins, basmati rice or:
  2. Venison saddle with poivrade sauce. Rosemary-scented purée of Granny Smith apple, braised red cabbage

Beverage
Peach Cappuccino

Dessert
Chocolate bûche de Noël. Vanilla custard cream and chocolate mousse
  • Wine: 2013 Vin d'orange

The cost is $85 per person without wine or $130 with wine pairing; these costs do not include tax, gratuity, coffee or tea. A three-course children's menu is available at $35.
