Rye High School Crew Team Ergathon

The Rye High School Crew Team, 40 members strong, will be participating in an Ergathon on Oct. 2 in the hopes of raising money.  The event will be held from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Middle School at 1 Parsons St. 

An Ergathon is when team members receive sponsors for rowing an Erg, a rowing machine, that measures the speed, distance and strength of the rower.  The rowers may try to row either for speed or distance up to 10 kilometers. 

Until now, the High School Crew team has received no school funding, so the rowers need to defray the cost of participating in Regattas.  Funding that was approved by the Board of Ed will not be effective until the Spring.
