Available Pets at Westchester Humane Society in Harrison

Available cats and dogs at the Westchester Humane Society in Harrison NY.

I paid a visit to the Harrison shelter yesterday and got some photos of their new dogs and cats.  The Westchester Humane Society (formerly the Westchester Shore Humane Society) was recently taken over by a group of volunteers who are now the new Board of Directors for the shelter and they have done an amazing job renovating and turning the once neglected, mismanaged and filthy facility into a model animal shelter!

So many volunteers continue to give their time, energy and funds to making this shelter the best it can be - from walking dogs, paying out of pocket to bring sick pets to the vet, cleaning out the kennels and building fantastic outdoor play yards - such a wonderful turn of events!

Please visit www.westchesterhumanesociety.org or call the shelter at 914-835-3332 to find out what you can do to help- they always need volunteers and donations (monetary, pet food, cleaning supplies, etc.).  And if you are looking for a new cat or dog to join your family please consider adopting- all the area shelters are over flowing with wonderful, deserving cats and dogs who would love you forever!

Attached are just a few photos of pets I met yesterday at the shelter.
