March 25 8:15-930pm (Hommocks) Evaluations

You can pre-register for tryouts at www.marinershockey.org and the fee is only $90 or you can register at the rink the day of tryouts for $125.   Mites are free.  All players must submit a NYSAHA Release form from their previous organization.   Tryouts will be run by local college coaches and the Mariners 2014-2015 coaching staff.   Team placement will be handled by Independent non-parent evaluators.  Our Mite teams will concentrate on skill development, power skating and play 3x3 and 4x4 cross ice games and our Mite A team will play in the highly competitive Chelsea Piers CT Dual County League.  The mite program is on a sign-up basis and team placement will occur in September but evaluations will take place at our try hockey for free clinic March 29 at Chelsea Piers CT.  On the squirt-peewee-bantam levels we are fielding Tier III A and B teams that will play in the Hudson Valley Tier III league.   These teams will practice twice a week on weekdays and play games on weekends.   Our season runs from Labor Day well into March.   All coaches will be USA hockey certified and have passed NYS background checks.   Our goal will be to have at least 2 to 3 coaches on the ice per team for games and practices.  In addition where possible we will be adding paid non parent coaches at each level.  Coaches’ bios are on the coaching page of our website – and we will be adding coaches over the next few weeks.
