PLAYLAND - TELL THE LEGISLATORS WHAT YOU THINK!

This coming Weds., March 19th at 7pm, the Westchester County Board of Legislators is holding a SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING just for YOU! The sole purpose of this meeting is to allow anyone concerned about the Playland/SPI issue to come out and tell the BOL what they think. It's not a presentation by SPI of any kind, or a question and answer session. The Legislators want to hear YOUR questions and concerns as they go through the process of reviewing the SPI plan.

Everyone gets THREE MINUTES to speak. Three minutes goes very quickly. It's advised that you write down your thoughts, keep them short, simple and concise (no rambling!) and practice reading them several times to that you are sure you can do it in three minutes or less, and can get up and read them clearly without mumbling or stumbling over words.

The event starts at 7pm. Everyone is welcome and Legislator Pete Harckham has said that they will stay until everyone who wants to speak has been heard.

Plan to arrive early! You will need to find parking, and then go through a security check downstairs in the lobby before taking the elevator to the 8th floor. BRING PHOTO ID FOR THE SECURITY CHECK OR YOU WILL NOT GET IN!

The Speak Out Session will be held in the BOL chambers. You will need to sign in with the receptionist out front and give her your name in order to speak. Then they call everyone up by name.

When you are speaking, you are FACING ALL OF THE LEGISLATORS! Know who YOUR Legislator is (check their web site if you are not sure at www.westchesterlegislators.com) and personally address them.

DO NOT BE AFRAID OR INTIMIDATED! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY! It may be the only one like this that you get, don't miss the opportunity!

Please be there! Even if you don't get up to speak, your presence and a show of bodies makes an important statement in support of Playland.
