Sack Wins, Unofficial and Incomplete Results Show
With 35 percent of districts reporting, Sack and Rye United sweep the polls; Jovanovich and Silberkleit reportedly concede.
An unofficial tally of the votes for City of Rye and Town of Rye elections posted by the Board of Elections shows Sack’s team, Rye United, swept the polls yesterday.
Mayoral candidates Peter Jovanovich and Nancy Silberkleit reportedly conceded to Sack late last night. As of 5 a.m. today, with 5 of 15 districts reporting, Sack has 70 percent of the vote, which is 1,160 votes, Silberkleit had 2 percent, 32 votes, and Jovanovich had 28 percent, 470 votes.
Rye United candidates for city council Kirstin Bucci and Terrence McCartney won 22 percent each, about 1,100 votes and Julie Killian, incumbent has 25 percent of the votes, 1,270. The election of the Rye United slate will mean Bucci will be the only Democrat on the Rye City Council. If Catherine Parker officially wins the District 7 County Legislator race then Sack will have two council seats to which he can appoint candidates in January.
