The War of 1812 Comes to Life at Tilly Foster Farm [PHOTOS]

Living History program celebrates 200th anniversary of the war.

Some people covered their ears while others did not as a replica 4-pound cannon was fired across the field at Tilly Foster Farm in Southeast on Saturday morning.  Those who didn't jumped as the cannon shot thundered across the field.

The 200th anniversary of The War of 1812 along with the Putnam County Bicentennial were celebrated at the outdoor education facility on Route 312 as re-enactors in period dress demonstrated weaving, cooking, blacksmithing and other trades of the time.

The event was sponsored by the Whipple Foundation and the Society for the Preservation of Putnam County.
