The 6th Annual Port Chester Fest is Set for June 8

Celebrate Diversity, community, music and family at Port Chester Fest.

A press release from Port Chester Fest:

Now in its sixth year, Port Chester Fest has become one of the most anticipated regional events of the year.  Port Chester Fest celebrates local diversity and community through art, music, and family activities.  This event showcases musicians from around the world, while providing various, fun-filled, creative art workshops.  This year we are back at the Marina Lot, the location that made Port Chester Fest so great.

Starting at noon, Port Chester Fest will feature live music and dance performances from around the world, as well as Port Chester’s own music sensations.  Soprano Camille Ortiz-Lafont dazzles audiences with her beauty and her voice. She will perform traditional Italian ballads as well as inspired, Latin-fusion dance.  Folklor Group Inti Andino brings the best of traditional, Ecuadorian music to our stage.  Port Chester’s own rising star, Charlie Scopoletti will bring his band to perform songs from his hit new album Truth.  Quesqento y Paccaricha: Danza de Tijeres (scissors dancers) will astonish you with thier acrobatic Peruvian competitive dance.  The Fest features a multi-cultural fashion show staring local children and families.  African Community Drummers and Dancers will widen your eyes and light up the stage.

The must see performance this year is Curtis Winchester's Twisted Soul Band with special guest, 5-time Grammy Nominee Pianist Jon Cobert!  Port Chester’s own Curtis Winchester performs blues, soul, R&B, Motown, and his own hits.  There is more entertainment, including family art workshops, crafts, vendors, and food from around the world. Utilizing art and music is a powerful mechanism to promote a positive image of Port Chester, bring our community together, and celebrate our diversity.

Port Chester Fest is a free event, designed for all residents to enjoy the day, learn about different cultures, and meet their neighbors.  From the very youngest of children to our great-grand parents, Port Chester Fest has something for everyone.
