Rye School Board Member Kendall Egan Receives WPSBA Distinguished Service Award

 Kendall Egan, retiring from the Rye City School District Board of Education after 6 years of service, was recently recognized at the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association’s (WPSBA) 51st Annual Dinner Meeting. Mrs. Egan, who currently serves as the WPSBA Board of Directors President, was presented with a Distinguished Service Award for providing exemplary board service.

Mrs. Egan joined the WPSBA Board of Directors in 2007 and served as Vice President for two years prior to taking on the role of President. The award, which is the highest level of recognition presented by the WPSBA, acknowledges her dedication and commitment as a public education volunteer. Mrs. Egan has represented the WPSBA in working with other organizations, cultivating an understanding of important matters related to public education.

During her time on the Rye City School District Board of Education, Mrs. Egan has served as chair of the Facilities, Communication, and Health and Safety Committees, and also participated on the Finance, District Wellness, English Language Arts and Technology Committees as well as the community’s Safe Routes to Schools Committee.
