Little League Teams Hit the Streets in Annual Rye Parade

Hundreds march down Purchase Street en route to Disbrow Park.

Little League season is officially underway and the glorious Saturday weather served as a backdrop to the annual parade in Rye celebrating the youth sport. Hundreds of young girls and boys of all ages marched with their teams down Purchase Street in downtown Rye on their way to Disbrow Park.

Shame to girls softball teams didn't get the same coverage as the boys. They work and play just as hard as the boys do at their game.

Unfortunately girls softball does not have a regional or national organization like Little League to support its games.

There were additional photos of girl's teams that for some reason did not upload initially. I've resubmitted them. There was no deliberate attempt to minimize the girl's participation.
