[UPDATE] Rye Events: Cancellations, Postponements and As Planned

UPDATE (3 PM FRIDAY) - The Emergency Shelter located at Rye Country Day School is closed.

The City of Rye will operate a Warming Center at the Adminsitration Building of Rye Golf Club, 330 Boston Post Road, beginning at 2:00 P.M. today, Friday, November 2, 2012. It will operate from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. until further notice.

The warming center will have power strips for charging portable devices, as well as coffee and tea.

This article will serve as a place for people to post their cancellations and postponements and to let the community know if an event is still happening as planned. Here is what we have as of 2:30 p.m. Wednesday:

  • Halloween: Police discourage residents from trick or treating today. Rye Mayor Douglas French said he will reschedule a day for kids to collect their candy door to door. 
  • Blind Brook schools are closed Thurs. and Fri. 
  • Resurrection School Father Son Night on Friday, November 2nd has been postponed. 
  • Rye Recreation is closed until further notice.
  • The Rye YMCA is open. They have delayed program registration: Members: Tues: 11/6; Non-Members: Thurs. 11/8. New session starts as scheduled: 11/10
