Rye Brook Reacts to Sex Offender Alert

Michael Vitarello, who was just released from prison, is now living in Rye Brook after serving 10 years for rape.

This week Rye Patch wrote a story about Rye Brook Police releasing a community notification, alerting residents that Michael Vitarello, a level 3 sex offender and Rye Brook native, was now living in the community again after serving 10 years for the rape and assault of a 20-year-old woman in Bronxville.

Our videographer, Angela Gaul, visited Vitarello's Highview Avenue neighborhood to get reaction from residents. While some were tight-lipped, Blind Brook School Superintendent William Stark discussed how the school is handling Vitarello's release.
