Rye Brook Police: Do Not Trick or Treat Today

Unsafe conditions still exist, do not trick or treat today or tonight. Rye canceled Halloween today as well.

This is an important message from the Rye Brook Police Deparment.  There continues to be many down power lines, trees and limbs down making it hazardous to walk and travel.  Safety is a paramount concern and it is not safe to go trick or treating today or tonight.

Residents are reminded to stay away from down wires and to always assume they are live. Fallen or hanging branches and trees can shift or move causing serious injuries.  Many intersections are without power and have no functioning traffic control.  Remember to observe the four-way stop at any intersection without a working traffic light.

Con Edison will be distributing dry ice at Yonkers Raceway until supplies run out.
