Five things you need to know to start the week, Feb. 11.

1. Rye Brook Board of Trustee Meeting

A public hearing on the application for approval of a special permit and amended site plan for the Reckson Ice Rink proposal is on the agenda for the Feb. 12 BOT meeting, but it is noted that the applicant has asked for the public hearing to be adjourned to February 26, 2013 to allow additional time to complete and submit supplemental traffic information.  This request will be considered by the Village Board at the February 12, 2013 meeting. 

2. Mardi Gras

Tuesday is Mardi Gras, which is French for Fat Tuesday, the last day to celebrate before it is time to repent for lent (Ash Wednesday is tomorrow). Happy Mardi Gras!

3. Playland Proposal Public Information Session

The Westchester County Board of Legislators will hold a public information session where the four groups vying to take over management of Playland will discuss their plans with the public. The session will be held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Read more here.

4. Rye Recreation Camp Registration

With so much snow on the ground, it may be hard to think about summer, but it is time to start registering your kids for camps. Here is an announcement from Rye Recreation:

Monday, February 11, doors open at 6 pm; registration begins at 6:30 p.m.

 Kiddy Camp - campers ages 3 - 5 (not entering grade K) - 6-week RESIDENTS only accepted
