Halloween Cancelled; Con Ed Update; Dry Ice; Green Waste Pickup

A message from the Rye City Manager's Office.

Power Restoration: Con Edison has been here since the beginning of the storm and is currently performing site safety which includes opening up closed streets and addressing downed wires. Once that is complete their focus will be to restore power to the schools first and then to residences.

Dry ice: Currently Con Edison has a limited supply of dry ice but will be setting up extended distribution - as soon as we have that information we will pass it on.

Garbage Pickup: DPW will be out today doing Green Waste only - residents can put branches from the storm, etc. out at the curb and they will be picked up - they do not have to be tied up. Regular Garbage pickup will resume tomorrow, Thursday, November 1st on the regular schedule.

Halloween: Halloween has been CANCELLED for tonight. This decision was made for the safety of the children due to dark streets, dark houses, and downed wires still on the streets. As soon as a date is chosen, in conjunction with the School District, we will pass that information on.
