Fireworks, Lighting Reported in Rye

An Lasalle Avenue resident reported fireworks being shot from Lasalle hitting houses on Walker Avenue the police could hear the fireworks during the call but they were gone on arrival on July 5 at 12:56 a.m.

 Lighting Strike on Dogwood

A Dogwood Lane resident reported that lightening struck a tree outside her house and she smelled smoke on July 8 at 9:34 p.m. the police transferred the call over the to fire department.

 A caller from Billington Court reported a lightning strike behind Midland School and now he sees a glow from behind the school at 9:35 p.m. Police checked and all appeared in order on Ann Lane and at Midland School.

 Around the same time a caller reported what she believed were gunshots to the rear of her house on Roger Sherman Place. Police canvassed the area and observed no streetlight. They think it was possibly a transformer explosion.
