Air Quality, Hazardous Weather Advisories Issued for Rye
The hot, muggy weather has caused governmental agencies to issue advisories to residents.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for southeast New York, northeast New Jersey and southern Connecticut.
The NWS predicts a slight chance of severe thunderstorms, potentially damaging winds and possible hail Monday afternoon and evening.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has also issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Westchester and surrounding counties through 1 a.m. Tuesday. The DEC says that outdoor air quality levels are expected to be dangerous for some individuals.

The state Health Department especially the very young and old and those with repertory ailments. The department recommends that everyone limit strenous outdoor activity and stay hydrated.
UPDATE: The NWS has also issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning through 1:30 p.m. Monday.
