When it comes to real estate, places like Rye tend to sell themselves—great schools, waterfront, a sense of community, a fast train ride to NYC.
But even Rye needs realtors so we thought we'd grab a few minutes with Rye resident and local realtor Fiona Dogan. (We agree, by they way, on the PG Tips—a great tea if you haven't tried it!)
Patch: What's your morning routine?
Fiona: 6 a.m. yoga at the YMCA fortified by a strong cup of PG Tips tea, home for a shower, kick the kids out the door to school, return emails, plan the day, then out by 9 a.m. for my first clients.
P: What do you do for a living? And what's the best thing about your job?
F: I am one of the top realtors in Rye. The best thing about my job is the critical role I play in helping clients move on to the next stage of their lives when they buy or sell a home. I love the variety of people and professionals I work with and the challenging, multi-faceted nature of the job.
P: What's the hardest?
F: Dealing with adversity when a transaction does not go as planned, and juggling a busy family life with a busy professional life.
P: How long have you lived here?
16 years.
P: What's your favorite thing about living here?
F: I love the warm, welcoming, supportive community, a great place to raise a family. I really appreciate the international population of such a small Westchester town, I love the beach, waterfront and the hugely convenient location close to NYC and major airports.
P: If you had to arrange a secret meeting here, where would you have it?
F: The Marshlands Conservancy.
P: Tell us something about yourself that most of your neighbors don't know.
F: I speak fluent German.
P: When you want a really indulgent snack here, where do you go and what do you get?
F: Any decadent slice of cake from Patisserie Salzburg, best patisserie in the county!
P: What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
If you don't want anyone to know, don't tell anyone at all.
P: What are you doing after this interview?
F: Watching the live broadcast of the Public Information session on Sustainable Playland at the Rye City Hall this evening—never a dull moment!
P: Thanks!
