A native of North Carolina, Matt Stallworth joined the Running Company in 2010 and has been in Rye since the Purchase Street store opened after the 2011 Turkey Trot.
Since December, the store has been leading bi-weekly running outings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings."It's smallish," said Stallworth. "We're still just starting."
But people are getting the word and Stallworth is hopeful numbers will continue to grow. Anyone can join. Just arrive five or ten minutes early to stretch. "We head out around 8 a.m." said Stallworth.
Matt earned his running cred on the cross-country team at North Carolina State University. But he said the running groups are open to every experience level. The outings are about 4 to 6 miles with Stallworth choosing the route.
