Fashion's Night Out Coming to Rye September 6

Boutique owner Angela Guitard brings fabulosity of Fashion's Night Out to Rye.

When Vogue editor Anna Wintour decided to use her clout to breathe new life into the New York fashion retail industry, suffering from the long-term effects of the recession, Fashion's Night Out was born.

Four years later, boutique owner Angela Guitard - of - has made Rye an official location for this year's event on Thursday, September 6 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Fashion's Night Out has grown even larger than its Manhattan epicenter into "a global initiative." And that's no hyperbole. Participation in this year's Fashion's Night Out will grow beyond last year's eighteen international locations and 4,500 sites across the country.

Rye's version will include more than 20 local merchants including Angela's, of course, and also , , , and among others.

"We thought it would be fun for Angela's to host an FNO event," said consultant Lexy Schmertz, "but we wanted to turn it into a community experience, which is why we reached out to the Rye merchants and invited them to participate."

And participate they will. Each of the participating Rye merchants will host special in-store events, with give-aways, raffles, makeovers and even celebrity appearances. The event has its own Facebook page with details and updates.

"At Angela's," said Schmertz, "we will be offering mini-makeovers by celebrity makeup artist, Kimara Ahmert, a raffle for Fashion Week tickets to runways shows by designers, including Rachel Zoe, Mara Hoffman, Joy Cioci and Project Runway, a chance to pop a FNO balloon to win 40 percent off, FNO t-shirts and totes with gifts, and of course, champagne and sweets."
