Mad Science Thrills Students at Ridge Street School

Mad Science of Westchester and Manhattan provided a spectacular Science Night for nearly 100 elementary students at Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School.

Mad Science of Westchester and Manhattan provided a spectacular Science Night for nearly 100 elementary students at Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School. Students in grades 2-4 were treated to a “Sounds like Science” show that explored how sound vibrations are made and heard. Volunteers from the audience helped demonstrate using various simple materials including plastic tubes, buckets and rope.

After the show, students visited three different stations for hands-on experiences in Optical Illusions, Sonic Sounds and dry ice Bubbling Potions. They assembled Technicolor Blenders, had their voices manipulated by computers and were amazed by the dry ice demonstrations.
