Five Blind Brook Teams Advance to State Finals in Destination Imagination Tournament

Five out of the nine teams from the Blind Brook School District that competed in the New York Destination Imagination Eastern Regional Tournament qualified to advance to the state finals.

Five out of the nine teams from the Blind Brook School District that competed in the New York Destination Imagination Eastern Regional Tournament in March have qualified to advance to the state finals. The 2013 New York Affiliate Tournament will be held April 13, 2013 in Endicott, N.Y. Destination Imagination is an educational program that lets student teams from elementary and secondary schools solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at tournaments. Teams that place in the top two at regional tournaments qualify to move on to the state finals.

Teams were required to compete in one of five challenges, including the following: In the Zone (technical challenge), Wind Visible (science challenge), In Disguise (fine arts challenge), Change in Realitee (improvisational challenge) and Twist-O-Rama (structure challenge). All of the challenges encourage teams to have fun, take risks, focus and address challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), the arts and service learning.
