Port Chester Auxiliary Police Association 2nd Annual Toy Drive is on!

Port Chester is a special place because of the many groups that help meet the needs of so many that struggle to provide the essentials from day to day. Our Police Auxiliary is just one of those groups

One reason why Port Chester is such a special place is because there are so many well organized groups to help meet the needs of many residents that struggle just to provide the essentials each and every day.

Port Chester is very fortanate to have so many volunteer organizations that come from our many Churches, Service Clubs like Kiwanis, Elks, Knights of Columbus, etc. Then there are those that support the basic Village Government operations, such as our Volunteer Fire Department and PBA.

There is also our long standing Auxiliary Police Association.

This year the Police Auxiliary will be repeating its successful toy drive!

Last year they supplied gifts to the Carver Center for almost 500 families that would have gone without the joy of the Holidays. This year the benefactors are Don Bosco Youth Center, as well as the Carver Center again. "The need is bigger", said Melissa Salmon, President of the Auxiliary Unit, "but we are up to the challange".

"The Port Chester Auxiliary Police Association, Inc. is totally handling the TOY DRIVE, separate from the Regular Police Force with 5 volunteers", said Asst Director John Touri. The other volunteers are Domingo Rosario (po), Michael Barrella(vp), and George Colaluca, Director of the unit.

The above mentioned volunteers will be working every weekend until Christmas where they can be found on Westchester Avenue, Kohl's, A&P, Midland Avenue and Don Bosco Place.

They will accept new unwrapped toys as well monetary donations from private and corporate donors.

The Auxiliary is a non for profit organization.

They can be emailed at: pcapd1940@aol.com...

So if you see them, say thank you for their service to our community and consider helping them exceed last years successful toy drive.
