Shakespeare in Crawford Park Slated for Sept. 17

Spend an evening with lords and ladies as local actors transform Crawford Park into a 16th-century French court.

Local actors will bring one of Shakespeare's lesser-known plays to life later this month, with an outdoor performance at Crawford Park.

Love's Labor's Lost combines comedy, court intrigue and 16th-century wit for a tale about a king and noblemen who devote themselves to three years of intellectual pursuit and find themselves tempted when a French princess and her ladies-in-waiting arrive at court.

The play was first performed in the English court for Queen Elizabeth in 1597.
