Fashion Design Class for Teens at Rye Free Reading Room

Space is limited, sign up now.

From the Rye Free Reading Room Facebook page: Maureen Amaturo will present a two-part Fashion Illustration for Teens Workshop at the library on Saturdays, September 22 and December 1, at 11:30 am. The first session is a repeat of a very popular program Maureen first gave in June on how to bring fashion designs to life. It begins with tips on how to draw a proportioned fashion figure and then shows participants how to develop their own sense of style and create an original design. Design basics, color theory, common fashion mistakes, and how to apply design rules when shopping for a wardrobe are all covered.

Teens who attended the June workshop and those taking it now will continue with a session in December covering further tools used in fashion design and sketching. Space is limited; speak to a librarian or call 914-231-3172 to register. Bring an 11 x 14 sketch pad, pencils, ruler and a good eraser.

The workshops are presented in conjunction with the Rye Arts Center and are sponsored by the Auxiliary Board of the Rye Free Reading Room.
