Public markets are synonymous with French culture and style. Bensidoun USA’s French Markets are a direct descendent of this rich and beloved tradition. Bensidoun opened its first market nearly 60 years ago outside of the City of Lights, expanding to White Plains in 2004.

Today, the Bensidoun’s operate more than 90 markets in the Chicagoland area, New York, Michigan, Connecticut and France including the markets in Paris.

“What really makes our French Markets unique is the support of the local communities where we operate,” said Sebastien Bensidoun, executive vice-president for Bensidoun USA.

“Over the years, we’ve seen businesses grow and flourish in an often challenging economy. The Bensidoun family is truly devoted to supporting local small businesses and creating meaningful relationships within the communities it serves. Many of our vendor and customer relationships go back 15 years to the very beginning of our US efforts.”

Be sure to watch for the opening of the Stamford, CT and West Harrison markets in June.

The White Plains Farmers Market has been with our town for some years. Unfortunately it has not found a permanent home. I would like to see something that would offer the vendors as well as the patrons some stability. I thought about the use of one of our local parks that may not be in use on the day of the market. I am well aware of the City of White Plains iniative to have a location for the people that work in the area to have access to this nice market. On the the other hand a larger area would offer both shoppers and vendors more advantages. The City Park on Lake Street where Ebersole is Ice Rink is Housed offers parking and has a very Spacious area for such a nice group.
