This popular Yonkers-based band features many styles of great Latin music for dancing or listening.  Carlos Jimenez is a flutist and vocalist, as well as composer, arranger and producer.  He has recorded and perform with; Hilton Ruiz, Barry Harris, Lee Roy Williams, Earl May, Edy Martinez, Sonny Bravo, Stephane Rongetz, Sauders Sermons, David Schnitter, Bobby Porcelly, Pete Nater & Alfredo Valdes Jr.  Also featured in the band is vocalist and percussionist Julio Salgado.

Mambo music was invented in 1930s Havana and made popular around the world by Perez Prado and Beny Moré.  Classic songs on their playlist are, Oye Como Va, Tamalitos De Olga, Son De La Loma, Cha Cha Cha, and Descarga Cachao, as well as originals by Carlos Jimenez and new arrangement of Jazz tunes into Mambo and Salsa.

Space in the pavilion will be set aside for dancing, which is highly encouraged.  People of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun.

All concerts will be held rain or shine, except in case of thunderstorms.  Picnicking is welcome.  Some seating will be available, but people are encouraged to bring blankets or beach chairs.  Dining and takeout is available at the nearby Seaside Johnnie’s Restaurant.

This is the third of seven free concerts that will be held on Tuesdays in July and August.  The concert series is sponsored in part by the Friends of Rye Town Park.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
