Sing for the Sound at the Meeting House, live music series, premier: The Ken:nedys

The Committee to Save the Bird Homestead is proud to announce Sing for the Sound, a new live musical series at the Meeting House, to raise funds to design and construct a kayak access point.  The premier performance, Friday, December 9  will feature Maura and Pete Kennedy, a married duo, known as The Kennedys.  Frequently heard on WFUV public radio, they play original songs and some exquisitely-performed cover tunes that blend acoustic-based folk, rock, country, pop, and secular gospel into an inclusively delightful sound that is all their own.  The performance starts at 8 pm.  Tickets are $20. WFUV's Dennis Elsas will be on hand to introduce The Kennedys.

Tom Andersen, author of This Fine Piece of Water: An Environmental History of Long Island Sound (Yale University Press) will give a brief remarks about the Sound before the performance.

Doors open at 7 pm for a one-pot dinner (optional).  For an addition $15, attendees may buy a bowl and enjoy a selection of locally made one-pot dinners.  Coffee, tea, and dessert will also be available for sale to help raise funds.
