Shakespeare's "As You Like It"

William Shakespeare’s comedy “As You Like It” is coming to Rye Town Park on Friday, August 5th at 5:30 p.m.  The performance will be held on the Park’s lawn, by the small pavilion near the lifeguard station.

This is a special outdoor venue adaptation produced by Carin and Peter Green and their Company, the Lawn Chair Theater.  Performing the play amidst the park’s trees and rolling lawn is in keeping with the spirit of the play’s famous line: “All the world’s a stage.”

As You Like It is an active, witty meditation on love set in a magical forest.  Couples meet and marry, lost lovers reunite, jesters woo, philosophers sing, evildoers undergo miraculous conversions, exiles find companionship and feuding families are reunited, all in the space of two hours.

The director of the production is Tal Aviezer, and original music has been composed by Josh Carriero.
