Jay Heritage Center presents the next installment in its series of "Juilliard at Jay" concert programs. On January 29, the evening highlights music that John Jay might have heard in his role as Minister to Spain from 1779-1782. Concitato and the artists of Juilliard's Historical Instruments Program will electrify listeners with rarely heard Baroque masterpieces played on antique instruments. Audience members will experience Joan Plana on violin, Ezra Seltzer on cello, Jeffrey Grossman on harpsichord, Priscilla Smith on oboe, and Grant Herreid on guitar. After the musical performance, the artists will discuss their craft with the audience in an intimate salon setting. Concitato combines the latest discoveries in musicological research with cutting-edge training. Their concerts have been described as "...technically adept and expressive performances...gracefully wrought renditions of works" (The New York Times). Reservations required. To reserve seats or for more information, contact Program Director Heather Craane by emailing jayhc@earthlink.net or calling (914)698-9275. Light refreshments will be served.
