A Minister in Spain Returns - Baroque Concert Reprise

 ,   Add to calendar
 Rye  See map

With a program that highlights the music that John Jay may have heard performed during his mission as minister to Spain (1779-82), "Concitato" and the artists of Juilliard's historical instruments program will electrify listeners with their insightful interpretations of rarely heard baroque masterpieces on period instruments.

Come hear Joan Plana (violin), Jeffrey Grossman (harpsichord), Nat Helgeson (dulcian), Priscilla Smith (oboe, bagpipes and vocals) and Grant Herreid (guitar, vocals and drums) present exquisite arrangements and and then discuss their craft with the audience in an intimate salon setting.

Taking its name from the Italian "concitare" (to incite or provoke), Concitato combines the latest discoveries in musicological research with cutting edge training. "...technically adept and expressive performances...gracefully wrought renditions of work." (The New York Times)

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
