Westchester Woman Elected to Board of Directors of Food Bank for Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, NY (July 2014)  Food Bank for Westchester, the backbone of the emergency food distribution system in Westchester County that supports over 265 grown line hunger relief programs, has announced the election of Briarcliff Manor resident, Ellen Rothschild to its Board of Directors.

“As a corporate neighbor and generous donor to our cause, we already call Ellen a friend.  Her involvement on our board of directors will greatly enhance the strong base of management and business experience that exists on our Board of Directors,” said Food Bank for Westchester Executive Director Ellen Lynch. “We look forward to leveraging her talents and abilities as we work to build awareness about the problem of hunger in our county and engage all segments of the community in an effort to create a hunger-free environment in Westchester.”

Rothschild is co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Digiscribe International, formed in 2001 to provide companies of all sizes with cost-effective document scanning, document management and office automation services.  Rothschild is responsible for business development, branding, client communication, and publicity. Rothschild brings several years of business-to-business marketing experience in the information technology industry to her role with the Food Bank for Westchester. She is also adept at business-to-consumer marketing, having worked in account management at several leading New York advertisement agencies.

 

“Each new board member brings fresh perspective, valued knowledge and skills, and a deep commitment to the Food Bank for Westchester’s mission,” said Chairman of the Board, Food Bank for Westchester, Rick Rakow. “We are thrilled to have Ellen join us and her professional expertise will add considerably to our capacity for leadership and support.”

 

For most of her life Ellen has lived and worked in Westchester County contributing to the economic base in the county, and dedicating her time and talent to several not-for-profit organizations including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Westchester Chapter; the Westchester County Association; and the Safe Rides Program in the Village of Briarcliff Manor.

 

“When a community has proper nutrition, they can be healthy, children can be productive, adults can be successful in work,” said Rothschild. “I am thrilled to join an organization such as the Food Bank for Westchester that focuses on giving families and individuals hope.”

 

Rothschild resides in Briarcliff Manor with her husband Mitch Taube, co-founder and owner of Digiscribe. They have two adult children, Juliana and Zachary.
