View Finder: Vehicle Fair

The 12th Annual Vehicle Fair was a huge hit at Osborn Elementary School.

The sky held out for the outside event for the 12th Annual Vehicle Fair, sponsored by the Rye Free Reading Room Auxillary board was held on Sunday May 22nd at Osborn Elementary School. The Fair attracted families and kids of all ages, with fun rides, music, an auction, face-painting and vehicles on display.

The fundraiser brought vehicles of all shapes and sizes to the Osborn School parking lot for kids to look inside and take a seat. Vehicles on display included: Rye Police cars, Rye Fire Dept. fire trucks, a school bus, construction vehicles, a Con-Ed vehicle, EMS vehicles, a National Guard truck, an UPS truck and an ambulance. Kids especially enjoyed sitting the driver's seats and honking the vehicle horns.

After kids checked out the awesome vehicles, they headed to face painting, field games, the jumping castle and the huge inflated slide. Families enjoyed upbeat music provided by DJ Anthony. The afternoon had a great turnout and the fundraiser raised money for the Rye Free Reading Room.

Check out this week's View Finder to see all of the fun!

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.

Don't feel so bad. The Patch doesn't even acknowledge that PC is a waterfront community. We've allRead More been shorted.
