Lois Carnochan, John Verni and Barbara Werber, all Mamaroneck residents, have been named to the Board of Directors of At Home on the Sound.
Lois Carnochan is a semi-retired educator and research nurse who has worked in geriatrics and women's health since 1984. She continues to teach nursing part-time in both theory and clinical courses. Lois has served on the Boards of Global Action on Aging at the United Nations and the Larchmont Avenue Church.
John A. Verni is a partner at the law firm Kent, Hazzard, Wilson, Conroy, Verni & Freeman. He is also a partner in Verco Properties LLC. The firm recently renovated the Mamaroneck Train Station into a restaurant and professional offices. He has done extensive pro bono work on behalf of many not-for-profit groups.
Barbara Traub Werber has lived in Mamaroneck since 1959. She worked as a speech pathologist and then as Director of Placement at the Katharine Gibbs School before becoming an executive recruiter. Barbara has served on many committees for Mamaroneck schools, the Harbor Island Conservancy, the funding committee of Friends of the Emelin Theatre, and the fundraising board for the Mamaroneck Library addition.
“We are excited about our new board members,” said Board President Penny Oberg. “These three individuals are clearly committed to our community and we are grateful they are willing to take on this new responsibility. We look forward to working with them to promote our mission.”
