Teen Poetry Contest

Do you think that you have what it takes to win a poetry contest?

The Rye Free Reading Room has been taking submissions for the Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA)’s Teen Poetry Contest for 2013.

The deadline for submissions is on December 31st, 2013.

Entries are only one poem per teen allowed and must be submitted to YA librarian, Bettyjane Surabian.

The contest guidelines are:

VOYA will not be accepting entries submitted directly from teens.

Submissions may only be poems of up to thirty lines on any topic.

VOYA judges will select the top five poems. When notified, winners must return the Publication Authorization form, which gives parental permission to print the work of the winning poet.

Each winner will receive a $20 cash prize and a copy of the April 2014 issue of VOYA.
