Rye Welcome Mat Rolled Out by Newcomers Club

The Newcomers Club expects a good turnout for its Sept. 9 BBQ.

It's an annual tradition in an all new location. The Rye Newcomers Club will hold its Welcome BBQ at this year. 

"This is a great kickoff event and we are especially excited about our partnership with the , where families will get to know a great venue in the community.

The Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club will hold its annual welcome BBQ for newcomers and all members on Sunday, September 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Rye Nature Center, 873 Boston Post Road.  

This popular event among the families of members and newcomers alike will provide the opportunity to meet new people and re-connect with old friends now the summer is coming to an end.  

Information on membership, club’s activities as well as delicious BBQ classics will be provided.   In addition, families will be able to enjoy live animal presentation and the beautiful Nature Center outdoors. Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
