Rye Runs Its 35th Annual Turkey Trot

Rye's 35th annual Turkey Trot is a fitting way to bring the community together and celebrate the start of the holiday season.

Rye has hosted the Turkey Trot for 35 years now; giving everyone who participates a chance to work off some of those calories from theit Thanksgiving feasts.

Four different runs are included: a 1-mile fun run, as well as competitive 3.1 and 5.2 mile races and the PAWS walk for doggie athletes.

Runners and walkers started at Rye Recreation Park, circled around to Playland and past Rye Arts Center.

Everyone had a great time and the weather was beautiful! Check out video from Rye Recreation here.

It was a great day - well organized and perfect weather. Thanks to the Rye Rec staff for keeping things smooth; to the Rye Police department for keeping things safe; and to the sponsors for supporting the race - local dentists Avrutin and Statman as well as doctory Andy Pearle.
