Rye High School Grad Found Dead In College Dorm Room
Officials say their investigation into the cause of death for 19-year-old Michael Rath is ongoing.
Michael James Rath, 19, of Rye, NY, a freshman at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, was found dead in his University Place dorm room on Wednesday, officials said.
No cause of death has been established, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
Rath was a business major at Coastal Carolina University, who had just started his second semester on Monday, January 13, 2014, according to officials with the school.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Public Information Officer Thom Berry told Patch that the agency's investigation is "ongoing."
Edge said that that an autopsy revealed no foul play. Rath was found lying on the sofa of his dorm room around 12 p.m. Wednesday, Edge said. Toxicology tests are underway, he said.
