Patch Picks: 6 Tasty Local Eateries to Grab a Slice

Amp up your pizza night with a pepperoni pie from one of these nearby Italian restaurants.

Friday is a great day. Not only is it the end of a grueling work week, it's also when most of the world's population takes one look at the hot stove, throws down their pots and pans in one fell swoop and proclaims,"I'm tired. We're ordering pizza!"

Switch up your usual sauce-and-cheese routine with a specialty slice or sit-down meal from one of these nearby joints.

Port Chester

Although it’s found smack dab in the middle of a shopping center, many say this pizzeria and sit-down restaurant stands alone in taste—one Patch folks here make this Boston Post Rd. address the best site for a slice in his travels all across the American landscape.

Cheesy pies aren’t the only tantalizing Italian-American delicacy served here. Sandwiches, soups and pastas also on the menu in case you decide once you’re inside that everything else smells too good to pass up. What’s more, the delivery service offered here inspires the makings of an urban legend: they even deliver pizza ordered by the slice. Hard to believe, I know.

Rye

It’s pretty rare to find hamburgers and hot dogs in the same place as a pizza pie, but that’s an indication of just how well this mid-priced business knows its customers. An attached dining room also creates the perfect atmosphere for a Saturday night family dinner.

As noted in for the perfect slice of pepperoni pie in town, there are more than 30 different slices available daily. Freshness is also guaranteed as sandwiches, wraps, calzones and salads made fresh in-house.

Harrison

This eatery is ideal for commuters getting off the Metro-North or a bustling family looking for an inexpensive but delicious night out. Portions are large enough to share for two and enough entrée options for vegetarians. Just ask Patch editor Zach Oliva, who boasted about it just in his recommendation for nearby grub.

It’s impossible to write about nearby pizza without including this haven for Italian food lovers. Classic dishes like focaccia and salads coupled with a traditional atmosphere of blue-checkered tablecloths and posters make this the epitome of classic neighborhood pizzeria.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
