Icy, Slow Monday Commute; Snow Expected Overnight
Rye could see up to three inches of new snow on Tuesday, the National Weather Service says.
Metro-North Railroad says train commuters are seeing delays of 15 minutes or more, as motorists work around a 20-car crash due to ice on the Bronx River Parkway and the National Weather Service calls for more tricky conditions.
No one was killed nor suffered life-threatening injuries in the parkway crash in Yonkers late Sunday night, though according to News 12, 30 people were sent to the hospital.
The National Weather Service declares a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Rye and the surrounding areas, including all of Southern Westchester and Fairfield Counties. A Winter Weather Advisory also is in effect, warning residents to beware of freezing rain and the possible accumulation of ice.
