From circus acts to voracious readers, there's plenty to do in and around the Rye area this week.

To help you plan, we've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try with your children. Each week, we'll give you information on the five best family activities or events for the week.

ROYAL HANNEFORD CIRCUS

Where/When: Feb 19, 20 and 21 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Westchester County Center

Why Go: Live animals, amazing stunts and fun for the whole family.

Pricing: $22.50-$28.50

 

Where/When: Fri. Feb 18 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Voracious Reader in Larchmont.

Why Go: Children will not only have fun reading, but playing with the Voracious Reader's loving dog, Franklin.

Where/When: Cranberry Lake Preserve, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m.

Why Go: The staff at Cranberry Lake Preserve will share their library of great storybooks with children in the Nature Lodge.

Where/When: JW Tumbles, 9 a.m.-Noon, President's Week

Why Go: Keep the kids active and entertained while they are off from school.

Pricing: $230 for the 5 days or $55 per day. Must RSVP.

 

LEAPIN' LIZARDS

Where/When: Opens daily at 10 a.m.

Why Go: This huge indoor playground will keep kids running, jumping and climbing rine or shine.
