Guided Bird & Flower Walk

The Committee to Save the Bird Homestead will present a guided Bird & Flower Walk on the Meeting House grounds and the adjacent Bird property at 2:00 pm.  Naturalist Alison Beall, Curator Emeritus of Marshlands Conservancy, will lead the program. Both properties overlook significant salt marshes along the Blind Brook estuary.  Ms. Beall will highlight the importance of this coastal habitat for wading birds. The grounds also attract spring migrants. Flowers have always been associated with Mother’s Day, and Ms. Beall will discuss the botanical characteristics of flowers in bloom, including fragrant lilacs and crab apples. Participants should bring binoculars, if they have them. The walk will last about one hour.
