Trihound Donates 20% of Proceeds to Local Humane Society

TRIHOUND, LLC ANNOUNCES INTENT TO DONATE 20% OF ALL COMPANY PROFITS TO NEW ROCHELLE HUMANE SOCIETY -- Local small business owner extending personal commitment to helping shelter animals to her business enterprise – Rye, NY -- Melissa Grieco, long time Rye resident, endurance athlete, owner & CEO of Trihound, LLC, announced on May 7, 2013 that she would be donating 20% of all company profits to the New Rochelle Humane Society. The recently formed corporation Trihound, LLC was officially launched on January 4, 2013. A few days before competing in their second Ironman Lake Placid triathlon, the Griecos were browsing along the Main Street shops in Lake Placid looking for a souvenir to bring home to their rescue dog Bruno. After finding a paltry selection of Ironman-themed sale items geared towards canine family members, Melissa formulated a business plan aimed at designing and producing a line of endurance race themed pet accessories. Melissa had noticed that dogs always formed a significant percentage of the spectating population at the various triathlons and marathons that she had attended or competed in. According to Grieco, “like the athletes themselves and their human groupies, these four-legged spectators deserve their very own line of customized, branded endurance-themed gear.” After successful Ironman Lake Placid finishes for both Melissa & John, it was back at home in Rye when Melissa got to work implementing her business plan. As an environmentalist and advocate for sustainability, Melissa makes a point of shopping locally and is a committed ‘locavore.’ Given her commitment to sustainability and helping local economies, Melissa was determined to find a locally based manufacturer to fabricate her products. After extensive research, she located a New England based factory that could execute her vision. She set about designing a line of ribbon customized with various endurance race motifs that the factory would produce and apply to leashes, collars, harnesses and a variety of other items. Having secured a local manufacturer for her products, Melissa formed an LLC and named her new company Trihound. She designed and built her own website and ecommerce portal. Since its inception and the official launch of www.trihound.com Melissa has expanded Trihound to provide a variety of high-quality, handcrafted pet and lifestyle accessories that appeal to runners and triathletes who enjoy celebrating their race commemorations through the company's unique offerings. Trihound merchandise encompasses not only dog leashes & collars but currently includes endurance-themed key rings, luggage tags, ladies flip flops and bags. As a passionate animal lover, rescue advocate and individual donor to many animal causes, Melissa decided that a main mission of Trihound, LLC should be supporting a local animal charity. As such, Trihound, LLC will donate 20% of all profits to the New Rochelle Humane Society. Melissa is continually increasing Trihound's range of products with new designs regularly coming down the pipeline. She works out of her house that serves as her office, design center, conference room and warehouse. It is here that Grieco’s clients can find her rescue boxer Bruno working closely by her side with full veto power on all new product designs.
