Linda Rey, AMIM, and Laura Rey Iannarelli, principals of Rey Insurance Agency in Sleepy Hollow, New York, have announced the buyout of the agency from their father, Francisco Rey, CLU. Family owned and operated since 1978, the agency is celebrating 35 years of providing comprehensive insurance solutions to companies and individuals.
The sisters’ purchase of the company follows more than 15 years of steady growth since they assumed leadership positions: Iannarelli as licensed agent and office manager, and Rey as licensed agent, handling sales and marketing operations with a focus on brokering and underwriting. Building on the strong platform established by their father, who stepped down in 2008 and formally retired this year, Iannarelli and Rey took the agency from 750 customers in 1997 to 3,000 today, with a 90% retention rate. Geographically, Rey Insurance has expanded from Sleepy Hollow and Westchester-based clients to a business that includes surrounding counties as well as Connecticut and New Jersey.
In her business development role, Linda Rey has built the agency’s reputation and market share by offering seminars, as a blogger for Equifax, and through various social media channels, as well as by networking and creating strategic alliances. She is a past president and vice president of the Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce, a former Board member of the Food Bank of Westchester, Westchester County Association and The Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns, as well as one of the co-founding members of the Professional Women of Westchester.

A licensed insurance agent with extensive expertise in life, accident, health, property and casualty (auto, home, business) insurance, Rey began her insurance career at Rey Insurance in 1985, then moved to Atlanta in 1990 where she worked at Swiss Re for 9 years as an Insurance Underwriter in the Ocean Marine Department, an experience that helped her refine her risk analysis, communication and marketing skills.

Laura Rey Iannarelli joined Rey Insurance in 1997, working in the personal and commercial lines department, handling auto, home, business insurance and group health insurance. She’s responsible for writing business, customer service, managing the office and employees, payroll and accounting.
“We always say that it’s our policy to treat customers like family, and I believe that’s been the key to our success: really listening to our customers, finding out what keeps them up at night, what they don’t like or understand about policies they may have through other agencies, and then working closely with them to ensure their needs are met and their assets protected,” said Iannarelli. “This is a very proud moment for us.”
