RCSD Music Students Selected to All-State and All-County Music Ensembles

A number of Rye High School students have been selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Festival in chorus, band, and orchestra ensembles. Additionally, several Rye Middle School students were selected to the NYSSMA Intermediate All-County Orchestra and Band, and two elementary school students were selected to perform in the Elementary All-County Orchestra. All of these students have put in a great deal of work under the leadership of their dedicated music instructors. Congratulations to the following students and teachers:

The All-State and All-County Music Festivals are presented by the Westchester County School Music Association (WCSMA), a unit of NYSSMA and the National Association for Music Educators. Students must audition, and upon being selected to the ensembles, spend months rehearsing with their groups in preparation for the festival concerts. The Area All-State Concert was held on November 7, 2013. The Intermediate All-County Concert will be held on March 8, 2014.
